Filmmaker Conference 2009 – Film Festivals and Technology

As technology continues to evolve, film festivals are faced with the challenge of staying ahead of the curve. From online submission sites, to simultaneous festival and online/on-demand premieres, to community based virtual panel suggestions – many festivals have expanded into the online arena, reaching audiences outside their auditoriums. How is this impacting the filmmaker experience and opening up new possibilities for building audience?

Moderator:
Sean Farnel, Director of Programming – Hot Docs

Panelists:
Jarod Neece, Film Conference and Production Manager – SXSW
Christian Gaines, Director of Festivals – Withoutabox
Andrew Mer, VP of Content Partnerships – Snagfilms
Erick Opeka, Senior Manager Digital Distribution – New Video
