2016 Screen Forward Labs Details
March 3rd 2017
Screen Forward Labs: April 24 – 28, 2017
The Screen Forward Labs gathers all Lab Fellows from 10 bold, distinctive story-driven, narrative serialized projects (including, but not limited to, TV and web series, VR, or app-based work – Instagram, Snapchat, etc.) for an intensive five-day program focusing on the completion, marketing, and distribution of their work. By providing mentorship and support of a variety of industry experts, the Screen Forward Labs cover topics such as funding and development of digital series, audience engagement and marketing strategies, distribution platforms and pitching.
IFP Film Week
All Lab Fellows are invited to IFP Film Week, where projects take meetings with relevant distributors, sales agents, funders, and festival programmers as part of the Project Forum. Serialized projects teams will also be invited to participate in the Screen Forward Pitching Day, dedicated entirely to pitching sessions in front of a curated selection of industry experts from TV, digital, and VR markets.
IFP Programming Staff provides year-round support as needed, advising fellows and advocating on their behalf. IFP also promotes Lab alumni serialized projects to its members and constituency during their launch as they become available to audiences through traditional and non-traditional platforms.
Commitment to Diversity
As part of IFP’s ongoing commitment to diversity, the Screen Forward Labs seeks to ensure that at least 50% of the participating projects have an inclusive range of races, genders, sexual orientations, ethnicities, and physical abilities in key creative positions.
