Emerging Narrative is
A small, specialized section of IFP’s Independent Film Week Project Forum focused on exposing emerging writers and writer/directors to producers, executives, and agents who can help take their projects – and careers – to the next level. This is done through one-to-one meetings, networking and screening opportunities, as well as access to top festival programmers and innovators on the independent scene at the Filmmaker Conference.
Writers and Writer/Directors present their completed screenplays. Up to twenty-five projects will be selected. Priority is given to material with little to no prior industry exposure (contests, competitions, festivals or script programs, or circulation among the traditional agent/development pools) and all projects must have been written after September 2011. Projects and participants are selected on artistic merit and previous marketplace exposure.
Once selected, IFP provides filmmakers with professional script and pitching consultation prior to participation. Throughout Film Week, participants will take part in one-to-one meetings with top industry leaders including independent producers, development execs, agents, managers, sales agents, and top festival programmers.
