Advocacy Tool Kit: Expanding Your Festival’s Impact (2:40 – 3:40PM)
Join Deirdre Haj, Executive Director of Full Frame and Shelly Green, President & CEO of the Durham Convention and Visitors Bureau for a discussion on how festivals can define the economic and social impact they have on local and national communities, and how they can leverage this impact towards further success.
The DCP Survival Guide (3:45 – 4:45PM)
As more and more art-house theaters adopt DCP projection, the effects of this transition on the festival landscape have been deeply felt. Colin Stanfield (Managing Director, San Francisco Film Society) will moderate a workshop with Sarah Pearce, Co-Managing Director, Sundance Film Festival, DCP expert Karl Mehrer (Technical Director, Tribeca Film Festival/K2 Imaging), and Marc Balgavy (Director, Worldwide Delivery and Lab Services, The Weinstein Company) about transitioning your festival with respect to DCP exhibition. Workshop will cover strategies and tactics relevant to established and emerging festivals.
Community Discussion (4:50 – 5:30PM)
To close the day, we’ll open the floor up to our festival colleagues to discuss the issues covered during today’s meeting – and the role that they’d like to see the IFP Festival Forum play in the community moving forward.
