Emerging Visions – October 4th, 2012

All events will be held at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center and other locations at the Lincoln Center Campus:

9:00am Welcome Breakfast Reception

10:00am In Conversation with Mira Nair
Mira Nair will draw upon her experiences in the indie world and Hollywood to discuss how to sustain a career in the entertainment industry and maintain artistic integrity.

11:00am Emerging Visions Fellows Presentations A
These presentations give the 2012 Emerging Narrative Fellows the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work to their peer group and select industry advisors, as well as define their career goals, current creative needs and overall slate of projects. The goal of these sessions is to foster creativity and community amongst the participants, as well as plant the early seeds of collaboration between fellows. Fellows will present to their peers and a panel of industry professionals including agents, managers, and financiers, who will give brief feedback on each project.

1:45pm Emerging Visions Fellows Presentations B

3:30pm In Conversation with Jonathan Demme
Jonathan Demme will walk Fellows through creative and strategic ways to build a sustainable career and have long term success working as a filmmaker in both the independent and studio worlds.

4:30pm Mentoring Feedback Sessions
Film luminaries will give real-world advice, feedback and support on the filmmakers’ latest projects and career goals.

6pm Cocktail Reception
An informal cocktail party with established funding bodies, select granting organizations, and established film festival heads to thank those who participated in the day’s program.
