Keynote: Jon Kilik

Bruno Walter Auditorium - 111 Amsterdam Avenue
Indie stalwart producer Jon Kilik refutes the gloomy prophecies of some on the state of independent film, and tells why he thinks the future is bright for independents! Kilik is an Oscar nominee for “Babel” and two-time Golden Globe winner for “The Diving Bell and the Butterfly” and “Babel”. His 40 plus films have included the directorial debuts of many indie auteurs such as Julian Schnabel, Gary Ross, Chris Eyre, and actors turned directors Robert De Niro, Ed Harris, and Tim Robbins. Kilik also continues his long standing collaborations with Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Alejandro Iñarritu, and Jim Jarmusch. This Fall’s releases include three Kilik-produced projects that cover a wide range - Bennett Miller's “Foxcatcher”, Spike Lee's “Mike Tyson, The Undisputed Truth”, and the second installment of “The Hunger Games”. Kilik has a wide angle view of our industry. Listen in, and feel revitalized about the road ahead.
Previous years’ speakers have included Focus Features’ James Schamus in conversation with Killer Films’ Christine Vachon, Ford Foundation’s Orlando Bagwell, transmedia innovator Michel Reilhac, HBO Documentary’s Sheila Nevins, Participant Pictures’ Diane Weyermann, filmmakers Andrea Meditch, Jennifer Fox, Lena Dunham, Ted Hope, Jon Kilik, Kevin Smith, JC Chandor, and Lee Daniels, CAA’s Micah Green & Roeg Sutherland, UTA’s Bec Smith, WME’s Mark Ankner, sales agents Josh Braun and John Sloss, Sundance Institute’s Keri Putnam, and Tribeca Enterprises’ Geoff Gilmore, among many others.
